Sugarmill Woods

Located in the southwest corner of Citrus County, Sugarmill Woods is only about 70 miles north of Tampa. Platting of the land was begun in early 1972 and by July of that year the first ground was broken. A second large pool and a tennis complex were added in Oak Village. And an 18-hole golf course was added to the newest section of Southern Woods in 1995.

In addition to all the golfing, there are seven rivers that run through the surrounding county including the Crystal River, Homosassa River, Halls River, Chassahowitzka River, Withlacoochee River, Salt River, and St. Martins River. In addition, the county is also home to dozens of springs including King Spring, Homosassa Springs, Chassahowitzka Springs and Three Sisters Springs.
